| Welcome to the 2008-09 school year!! |
| Dear Parents and Students, I am so excited to begin our upcoming school year. I hope all of you had a wonderful summer break and are well rested. I have been very busy getting things ready for September and missing all of our students. We have many events scheduled for the first month of school. | Our teachers are very excited to meet their new students on August 28th. At the bottom of this letter is a sticker noting your child’s teacher and room number for the upcoming school year. Feel free to bring in your student’s school supplies at this time. At Belmont we encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s education. We offer many opportunities for parental involvement through volunteering, the Parent Teacher Student Organization, and our School Advisory Council. Please look for information to come home during the first week of school to sign up to be an active participant in these organizations. |
| Beginning this year, post cards with bus stop information will be mailed to the homes of all students using regular school buses. Students who require special transportation services will be directly notified of their bus arrangements by Belmont Elementary. Bus schedules will also be posted on the Office of Transportation Services’ Web site (pwcs.edu/departments/transport) beginning Monday, August 18. In addition to viewing these schedules on the Web site, parents can also obtain a printed copy in our main office. If your student will be a bus rider, we encourage parents to send their students to school on the bus so we can identify who rides which bus to ensure they get on the correct bus at the end of the day. Please remember to have your child at their bus stop five minutes prior to the time listed. Also, due to traffic patterns, students may arrive home five to ten minutes after the drop off time noted. Again, we welcome all of you to our 2008-09 school year and look forward to an awesome year. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, B Outlaw Bridget Outlaw, Principal outlawbc@pwcs.edu |
